Radiation oncology physicist is a clinical profession with the responsibility of clinical service, teaching, research and development, and social service. The main clinical service responsibilities include patient treatment planning, quality assurance and quality control of radiotherapy techniques, equipment and workflow, research, development and implementation of new radiotherapy techniques.
There are 9 physicists in the department now, including 6 Ph.Ds and 3 masters, 1 associate professor, advisor of master. The physicists are the committee members of Chinese Society of Medical Physics (CSMP), National Standard Committee of Radiotherapy, Expert Committee of China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), Chinese Society of Radiation Oncology Physics Committee et al.
The image-guided and radiotherapy equipment includes radioactive seeds implant system, HDR machine, Cyberknife, linear accelerators, hyperthermia unit, PET/CT simulator, MRI simulator, CT simulator and X-ray simulator, Ultrasound and optical guidance device. 3D print template guided seeds implant, 3D HDR brachytherapy, 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, SRS/SBRT, TBI and hyperthermia are successfully developed and implemented.
