Discussion Meeting Venue

On the morning of October 9, 2023, a 16-person delegation from the Macau Medical Science and Technology Research Association, led by Vice Chairman Li Zhi and President Zheng Liheng, visited Peking University Third Hospital. Wang Huijie, Director of the General Office of the Publicity Department of the Macau Central Liaison Office, and Deputy Director Liu Rui accompanied the visit. Song Chunli, the Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital, attended and gave a speech. Professor Ao Yingfang from the Department of Sports Medicine, Director Li Weishi of the Orthopedics Department, and other experts from both departments participated in the discussion.

Vice President Song Chunli introduced the delegation to the overall situation and disciplinary characteristics of the hospital. He expressed the hope that through exchanges and visits, the interaction between Peking University Third Hospital and Macau's medical and health sectors would be continuously deepened, actively promoting cooperation in the fields of industry, academia, and research, and providing new momentum for the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau.

Introduction of  Orthopedics Departments and Sports Medicine

The Sports Medicine and Orthopedics Departments detailed their development history, professional features, and academic progress and achievements in recent years. Director Li Weishi introduced the origins of cooperation with the Macau Medical Science and Technology Research Association. Professor Ao Yingfang hoped for deeper integration of medical and engineering disciplines to serve the construction of a healthy China.

The visiting delegation highly praised the rapid development of the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Departments at Peking University Third Hospital and appreciated the hospital's "One Body with Two Wings" medical teams' support for the Beijing Winter Olympics. President Zheng Liheng expressed that the visit aimed to strengthen in-depth exchanges with the Sports Medicine and Orthopedics Departments and explore cooperation opportunities.

Site Visit

After the meeting, the delegation toured the wards of the Sports Medicine Department, the Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Center, the Beijing Municipal Key Laboratory for Joint Injury and Arthritis in Sports Medicine, and the Innovation and Transformation Center of Peking University Third Hospital. The visiting group engaged in in-depth discussions with the hospital's scientific researchers on the development trends of medical technology, the application of innovative technologies, and the transformation of scientific research achievements.
