The Division of Nephrology, Peking University Third Hospital was first established in 1988 by professor FAN Min-hua. During the past decades, significant progresses have been made in our division. Currently, our division if staffed with 19 nephrologists, 39 nurses and 1 dietician. Twenty postgraduate students, 15-20 fellows and several volunteers are also working at the same time in our division. We provide high quality services to patients with kidney diseases, including renal biopsy, hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration, peritoneal dialysis, plasmaphoresis, CVVH, etc. Home hemodialysis is also currently under its way in our division. Under the current leadership of professor WANG Tao, our division focused very much on home therapy for kidney disease as well as critical care nephrology with the vision “to improve continuously the quality of care for patients with kidney disease”.

In July 2008, a new training and research academy is established in our division with the name of Baxter Scientia Asia Pacific under the support of Baxter.
