Behcet’s disease is an inflammatory condition of multiple organ systems in which recurrent oral and genital ulcers are the most typical signs. Less common clinical features include cerebral vasculitis, arterial aneurysms, deep vein phlebitis, aseptic meningitis, and discrete (分离的,不连续的) bowel ulcers. Because there are no specific pathologic or serologic tests, the diagnosis is often difficult and only about one-half of the patients referred to specialists with a diagnosis of Behcet’s disease turn out to have the disease.
