On March 11, 2024, the research teams led by Associate Professor An Yang from the Department of Plastic Surgery and Researcher Hu Xiaoqing from the Department of Sports Medicine at Peking University Third Hospital published their latest research in the internationally renowned journal Biomaterials. The paper, titled "Perfusable adipose decellularized extracellular matrix biological scaffold co-recellularized with adipose-derived stem cells and L6 promotes functional skeletal muscle regeneration following volumetric muscle loss," provides a theoretical basis for developing new biomaterials and strategies to treat significant muscle loss. Postdoctoral fellow Liang Wei and graduate student Han Meng from the Department of Plastic Surgery at Peking University Third Hospital are co-first authors of the study, with An Yang and Hu Xiaoqing as co-corresponding authors.
