On January 14, 2024, the National Health Commission convened a press conference to discuss the prevention and health advice concerning respiratory diseases in winter. Wang Jianquan, the Director of the Sports Medicine Department at Peking University Third Hospital, was present at the conference. He offered scientific guidance and recommendations on how to manage falls, prevent injuries during winter sports, and how special populations such as the elderly, young children, pregnant women, and individuals with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases should exercise in winter.
