In August 2023, Professor Tian Yun, Director of Orthopedic Trauma Surgery at Peking University Third Hospital, and his team were invited to participate in the 15th International Conference on Biodegradable Medical Metals and engaged in academic exchanges.

In mid-August 2023, Professor Tian Yun's team from Peking University Third Hospital, along with collaborating researchers from Professor Wen Peng's team from Tsinghua University and Professor Cheng Yan's team at Peking University, were first invited to RWTH Aachen University in Germany for academic exchange. The team at RWTH Aachen University showcased their unique medical metal surface treatment and medical device manufacturing technologies, and shared their extensive experience in the development of materials, processes, and equipment for biodegradable metal additive manufacturing. Tian Yun presented significant research and practices in additive manufacturing of porous magnesium alloys, supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology's key intergovernmental international science and technology innovation cooperation project "Laser Additive Manufacturing of Biodegradable Metal Orthopedic Implants and Their Clinical Applications." Professor Schleifenbaumh, Director of the Digital Additive Manufacturing Center at RWTH Aachen University, expressed that future cooperation could be strengthened in international project applications, personnel exchanges, and graduate student training in research fields including biomedical magnesium alloy materials.

From August 21 to 27, Professor Tian Yun's team visited Italy to attend the 15th International Conference on Biodegradable Medical Metals. During the conference, Professor Tian Yun, as an influential scholar in the field, was invited to deliver the opening keynote address on the first morning, titled "Application of 3D Printed Magnesium Alloy Fully Structured Controllable Degradation Support for Periarticular Bone Defects in Limbs: From Basic to Clinical." This presentation of Peking University Third Hospital's clinical application research on 3D printed degradable magnesium alloy implants was the first of its kind reported both domestically and internationally and demonstrated the team's international leadership in the research of additive manufacturing of degradable magnesium alloys.
