Peking University Third Hospital Team Led by Zhang Xin Publishes Findings in Advanced Materials, Marking New Progress in Sports Injury Repair Materials

On December 16, 2025, the team led by Chief Physician Zhang Xin from the Institute of Sports Medicine of Peking University Third Hospital, in collaboration with the teams led by Professor Wang Luning and Professor Shi Zhangzhi from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, published a research article titled "Metabolic Osteoimmune Biodegradable Zn-Mn Alloys: High Strength-Ductility and In Situ Vascular-Osteogenic Coupling" in the authoritative materials science journal Advanced Materials (IF: 28.9).

Focusing on the biological process of osteochondral defect repair, the study successfully developed two new biodegradable zinc alloys, achieving new progress in materials that integrate immune regulation with sports injury repair. This study is one of three outstanding achievements in the team's series of sports injury repair materials research, all published in Advanced Materials.

Dr. Li Xiangmin from the University of Science and Technology Beijing and Dr. Liu Dingge from Peking University Third Hospital are co-first authors of the study. Wang Luning, Zhang Xin, and Shi Zhangzhi are co-corresponding authors.
