Recently, the first Peking University Belt and Road International Advanced Training Program on Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting was held at Peking University Third Hospital. Eight cardiac surgeons from six countries, Portugal, Israel, Argentina, Bangladesh, India, and Indonesia, took part in the training.
Simulation-Based Teaching
At the opening ceremony on January 15, 2026, Academician Qiao Jie, Director of Peking University Health Science Center, and Shen Ning, Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital, delivered remarks. They fully affirmed the importance of the international training program and said the hospital would continue to leverage its disciplinary strengths to contribute more to medical education exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Completion Ceremony
The four-day program adopted an immersive teaching model combining surgical observation, theoretical lectures, and simulation training. Through systematic study, participants gained a fresh understanding of the core concepts and operative techniques of minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting, significantly improving their clinical proficiency and confidence.
