On July 28, 2024, the team led by Professor Ding Shigang and Associate Professor Zhang Jing from the Department of Gastroenterology at Peking University Third Hospital, along with their collaborators, published a research paper titled “AUF1-mediated inhibition of autophagic lysosomal degradation contributes to CagA stability and Helicobacter pylori-induced inflammation” in Gut Microbes (Impact Factor: 12.2). This study uncovers the important role of the interaction between the key virulence factor CagA of Helicobacter pylori and the host AUF1 protein in the pathogenic mechanism of Helicobacter pylori. Doctoral student Huiling Zheng from the Department of Gastroenterology at Peking University Third Hospital and Ting Zhang from the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Peking University are the co-first authors of the paper. Professor Ding Shigang from Peking University Third Hospital, Researcher Xiangmei Chen from the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Peking University, Associate Professor Jing Zhang from Peking University Third Hospital, and Researcher Guochao Wei from the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Peking University are the corresponding authors.
