On July 26, 2024, the 33rd Summer Olympic Games opened in Paris, France. Professor Wang Jianquan, Director of the Department of Sports Medicine at Peking University Third Hospital, joined the Chinese Olympic delegation as a medical expert, accompanying the national team to safeguard the health of the Chinese athletes. This marks Professor Wang's fourth Olympic mission, following his involvement in the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Since the establishment of the Peking University Institute of Sports Medicine in 1959, the sports medicine team at Peking University Third Hospital has taken on a strong sense of responsibility, playing a vital role in the development of the nation's competitive sports and promotion of nationwide fitness.
