On May 6, 2024, the research team led by Researcher Wei Rui and Professor Hong Tianpei from the Department of Endocrinology at Peking University Third Hospital published their findings on lactylation modification regulating the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in the journal Molecular Cancer. This study is the first to reveal that histone lactylation (especially H3K18la) mediates the occurrence and development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, providing a theoretical foundation for the development of new therapeutic strategies and drug targets for this cancer. The first authors of the paper are Li Fei, a PhD student in the Department of Endocrinology, Si Wenzhe, an associate researcher in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, and Xia Li, a PhD student in the Department of Endocrinology. The corresponding authors are Researcher Wei Rui and Professor Hong Tianpei from the Department of Endocrinology at Peking University Third Hospital.
