Chen Gui’an（陈贵安） Researcher of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Advisor for Doctorate Candidates

Specializes in diagnoses and management for infertility with assisted

reproductive techniques of test tube babies and single sperm microinjections etc.

Graduated from Beijing Medical University in 1968; received further training in State University of New York at Stony Brook from 1985 to 1987; visited the birth place of the first test tube baby in the USA--the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine, Eastern Virginia Medical school, in the year of 1987 for study of assisted reproductive techniques. After being back to China in 1987, Dr. Chen has been working with job involvements in both clinical and laboratory sections for assisted reproductive services in the Center of Reproductive Medicine headed by Professor Zhang Lizhu and she was a major performer for the successful achievement of the first live birth from freeze thawing embryo in Mainland China. She began to take charge of the center’s operation from 1997 and led the development and implementation of Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) of embryos and their derivatives after her visits to some centers of Reproductive Medicine in Australia as a senior Visiting Scholar. She has been contributors of over 40 medical papers, and now she is a member of specialty board of the Chinese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology under Chinese Medical Association, a syndic of the Reproductive Biology Branch of China Zoological Society and member of editorial boards of Journal of Reproductive Medicine (Standing), Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Beijing University’s (Medical), Chinese Journal of Family Planning, and Journal for Improving Birth Outcome and Child Development of China. She is also a winner of special government allowance

by the State Council of China.
