Zhang lizhu (张丽珠) BS, MD. Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics,Chief Physician, Advisor for Doctorate Candidates, world renowned specialist in reproductive medicine. Her specialty consists of sub-fertility, especially in test tube baby technology, female reproductive endocrinology and difficult cases in Ob/Gyn.
1944: B.S., M.D.: St. John’s University Medical School (being the medical school of Pensylvania University, U.S.A).
1946~1949: Post-doctorate studies in U.S.A (Johns Hopkins and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Sloan Kettering Institute of Cancer Memorial Hospital).
1949~1951:Clinical work in London, England (Marie Curie and Hackney Hospital). October 1950:D.R.C.O.G.
1952~1958: Associate Professor at the First Affiliated Hospital of Peking Medical College.
1958 up to now: Honorary director, Center of reproductive medicine. Vice-chairman of the Chinese society of Ob/Gyn (1991), Advisor (1995~2000). Vice Editor in chief of the Chinese journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1981.
Published more than 100 papers in academic journals in china and abroad, more in the field of reproductive endocrinology in the recent 30 years, Chief editor of the section of Ob/Gyn of Chinese Encyclopedia (1992), Obstetrical and gynecological Experiences and lessons 101 cases (1992) and Clinical Reproductive Endocrinology and infertility (20010. She was the leader of research group responsible for the first “test tube baby” in mainland China, delivered on March 10,1988, “Gift” baby on March 18,1988, oocyte donation “test tube baby” in June 1992, frozen thawed embryo “test tube baby” in Feb. 1995 and surrogate “test tube baby in Sept 1996. For her pioneer work and research in Art, she is praised as “the Mother of test tube Baby in Mainland China”. She received many honorary titles for her outstanding contributions in clinical treatment, teaching and research in Ob/Gyn.
