北医三院手术室创建于1958年，当时有7个手术间，8张手术台，护士7人，1961年手术室有护士8名，并开始接收进修护士，平均每天手术10余例。1966年正值文化大革命开始，手术室护士分到病房与外科医生一起接管病人，包括术前准备，手术及术后治疗护理等工作。文革结束后，手术间仍为7间，但为增加手术病床周转率手术台增长至12张，每个手术间放两张手术台，平均每天手术20余例。1988年中国大陆第一例试管婴儿在手术室诞生。1991年手术室扩建增至11个手术间，手术室护士30余名，平均每天20余例手术。1998年手术室扩建增至15间，手术室护士40余名，平均每天30余例手术。2005年外科大楼启动，手术间增至25间，护士70余名，平均每天手术90余例。

北医三院手术室历经几代手术室人的艰苦奋斗，在科学高效管理及先进理念指导下，现正发展为一支朝气蓬勃，积极进取的先进科室。目前手术室共11个手术区域，共计72个手术间，一体化手术间3个，现有手术室护士200余人，在高效运转安全管理的模式下，2022年手术量达6.7万余例次，日均手术量300例，手术量逐年上升，2022年同比2021年增长5.2%，手术“零”差错；“零”事故。

手术室在各级领导关心，指导下不断前进与发展，继承原有科室文化精髓，在护理科研，服务及文化等方面取得了优异的成绩！

The operation room of Peking University Third Hospital was built in 1958, which has seven operating rooms, eight operating tables, and seven operating room nurses. There were eight operating room nurses (ORN) and started to receipt trainee nurses, there were average 10 operations in number per day in 1961. Since the beginning of the Great Cultural Revolution in 1966, the ORN were allocated to wards to manage patients with surgeons, which included preoperative preparation, intro-operation care and post-operation care and so on. After the Great Cultural Revolution, the operating rooms was still seven, but in order to increase the turnover of beds the operational tables were increased to twelve, and two operating tables in each operating room, the average number of operation was increased to twenty per day. The first test-tube baby in mainland China was given birth in the operating room in 1988 in our hospital. In 1991, the operation room was extended to eleven operating rooms and thirty ORNs and more than twenty operations were carried out daily in average. In 1998, the operation room was augmented to fifteen operating rooms, and 40 OR nurses, with 30 operations were implemented in an average per day. The surgery building was put into utilization in 2005, and the operating rooms were increased to twenty five, and with more than 70 OPNs, and an average of more than 90 operations were performed daily.

The operation room of Peking University Third Hospital is developing to a vigorous and enterprising department after several generations of operation people’s hard work under the guidance of scientific and efficient management and advanced ideas. Currently, there are 11 operating areas, which include 72 operating rooms and 3 integrated operation room. There are more than two hundred  OR nurses. Under the model of high-efficient operation and safety management, the volume of operations peaked to more than 67000 in 2022, and the average daily operation per  was 300. The volume of operation has been increased year by year, the increment was 5.8% compared with that of 2021.  and with “zero” surgical error and “zero” surgical accident.

Under the care and guidance of each level leaders, and inherit the cultural essence of the original department, the operation room moves forward and developed well, and has made excellent achievement in the nursing scientific research, services as well as in nursing culture.
