On February 5, 2024, The Lancet online published the latest research findings led by Academician Qiao Jie from Peking University Third Hospital: the use of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in non-severe oligoasthenozoospermia infertility patients does not improve the live birth rate of in vitro fertilization (IVF).
This study further standardizes the indications for ICSI technology, enhancing the normativity and safety of assisted reproductive technology, and will provide the best evidence-based basis for international guidelines. Accompanying this publication, reproductive experts from Brazil and Denmark provided commentary, offering "level one evidence for the treatment domain of non-severe infertility."
Wang Yuanyuan, Li Rong, Yang Rui, and Zheng Danni from the National Clinical Research Center for Obstetric and Gynecologic Diseases at Peking University Third Hospital, and Zeng Lin from the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Research are the co-first authors of this paper.
