McGill University Professors Visit Department of Endocrinology

McGill University professors visited Department of Endocrinology Peking University Third Hospital on December 4^th. At the invitation of the Department of Endocrinology of Peking University Third Hospital, Professor José A. Morais, Professor Jun-Li Liu and a group of experts from McGill University came to visit our hospital. Professor Morais is Director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at McGill University and McGill University Health Centre. He is past President of the Canadian Geriatrics Society. During the inspection, participants visited Outpatient Clinic, Peking University Medical Science and Technology Building, ward of Endocrinology Department and ward of Geriatric Internal Medicine Department. The Department of Endocrinology held an academic meeting. Tianpei Hong, Director of the Department of Endocrinology, presided over the meeting. Then Jin Yang, vice Director, briefly introduced the general situation of the hospital and department. Professor José A. Morais gave a special lecture entitled "Insulin resistance of protein metabolism with diabetes and ageing", Professor Jun-Li Liu presided the lecture. Participants carried out a warm discussion. Professor Jun-Li Liu will give the other lecture entitled “Pancreatic islet and metabolic regulations by matricellular protein CCN5/WISP2”. The visit and discussion strengthened communication and exchange between the Endocrinology Department and international peers, and also provided a broader perspective for the construction of the National Clinical Key Specialty Construction Program, P. R. China (2023).
