Peking University Third Hospital has consistently closely aligned with the educational policies and guidelines of the Party and the state, continuously exploring the establishment of a high-quality medical teaching staff. By delving into the developmental principles of medical educators, the hospital has both theoretically and practically established the "Medical Heart and Teacher's Path" training system. With a focus on the distinctive feature of "bedside teaching" in clinical undergraduate education, the hospital has restructured and innovated the clinical faculty training system, creating a novel medical team teaching model characterized by "secondary discipline integration" and "primary discipline crossover." This has led to the creation of a "three-stage and three-dimensional" and "dual spiral upward" lifelong high-quality teacher training system. The hospital has devised a comprehensive system and mechanism for entry and training, assessment and evaluation, promotion and motivation in teaching, medical treatment, and research, bolstering the collaborative development of multiple professional roles of clinical teachers. Through multi-dimensional progress, the hospital has profoundly ignited the teaching drive of all doctors, fostering a healthy and harmonious overall teaching atmosphere and culture, continually enhancing the quality of medical student training.. After over a decade of tireless exploration, six practical transformations have been realized: the clinical faculty training system has evolved from fragmented to systematic and standardized; training content has transitioned from scattered and chaotic to meticulously designed; training methods have shifted from single and rigid to diverse and intelligent; teaching participation has expanded from a few departments and doctors to the entire hospital staff; teaching incentives have grown from relatively insufficient to comprehensive support; and the teaching ecological environment has transformed from ‘emphasizing medicine over teaching’ to ‘enjoying and excelling in teaching.’
