J Neurol Neurosurg Psychiatry, one of the top journals in neurology, recently issued Natural history and clinical features of sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in China, by the team of Fan Dongsheng, professor of Neurology Department of PUTH, in cooperation with the team of Zhan Siyan, professor of Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, School of Public Health, Peking University Health Science Center. . This is a ten-year large prospective cohort study, which first comprehensively described the natural history and clinical features of Chinese sporadic ALS patients. It disclosed some prominent features of Chinese ALS patients in many aspects, such as the onset age, gender characteristics and clinical phenotype, with analysis of possible prognostic factors of Chinese ALS patients.
