From December 4th to 5th, PUTH together with New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell launched the First Chinese-American University Affiliated Hospital Management Forum and PUTH 2015 Annual Mid-Level Cadres Training at PUTH. Almost a hundred of people attended the convention, including Qiao Jie, the President of PUTH and other hospital leaders, heads of functional offices and some clinical departments.
rofessor Michael S. Sparer, department chair of Health Policy and Management at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, gave a contrastive analysis on the medical insurance systems between China and America, and the changes of medical health systems which were currently going through as well. Dr. Liu Nan, assistant professor of the department, introduced hospital operations management in the digital period. Ms. Angela L. Moore, administrative director of Urology Department at Weill Cornell Medical Center/ New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, went into details about the types and frameworks of academic medical centers, managerial roles, and what it takes to succeed.
Participants were divided into 3 groups, having separate discussions regarding department management, health policy and system, and hospital operations management with the experts.
