On May 28, 2026, the Water Sports Administration Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Peking University Third Hospital held an exchange meeting and signed a framework cooperation agreement. Zhan Hui, Director of the Water Sports Administration Center, Deputy Director Zhang Peng, Jin Changxiao, Party Secretary of Peking University Third Hospital, Wang Jianquan, Director of the Department of Sports Medicine and Director of the Institute of Sports Medicine, and representatives from relevant departments of both sides attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Feng, Director of the Hospital Party and Administrative Office of Peking University Third Hospital and Deputy Director of the Foot and Ankle Surgery Division of the Department of Sports Medicine.
At the meeting, Party Secretary Jin Changxiao introduced the hospital's development history and the development of sports medicine, emphasizing the need to continuously improve medical support capabilities around the needs of major events such as the Olympic Games and to contribute to Chinese sports. Director Zhan Hui introduced the work of the Water Sports Administration Center and preparations for aquatic sports events. He noted that injuries caused by long-term, high-intensity training among sports teams are relatively prominent, and expressed the hope of working closely with the hospital to intervene earlier in injury prevention and treatment and help athletes compete in optimal condition. Director Wang Jianquan stated that the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries should take into account the characteristics of event-specific training. Going forward, the two sides will work together to explore new service models, establish a regular mechanism for medical teams to visit training squads, and provide more professional and efficient medical support for national teams preparing for competition.
After the discussion, the two sides signed the framework cooperation agreement.
In the future, the two sides will further strengthen medical support for aquatic sports, give full play to the strengths of the Department of Sports Medicine and the comprehensive capabilities of Peking University Third Hospital, and help China's aquatic sports achieve new breakthroughs.
