On September 8, 2024, the "2024 China Hospital Science and Technology Innovation Development Conference" and the "5th Anniversary Symposium of the Peking University Third Hospital Institute of Medical Innovation and the Xueyuan Road Clinical Medicine Collaborative Innovation Alliance" were held in Beijing.

At the conference, Jin Changxiao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University Third Hospital; Qiao Jie, Executive Vice President of Peking University, Director of the Peking University Health Science Center, and President of the Peking University Third Hospital Institute of Medical Innovation; Wang Yunpeng, President of Beihang University; Gong Weimi, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Science Park Administrative Committee; Zhang Xueming, Deputy Director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China; and Liu Dengfeng, Director of the Department of Science and Education of the National Health Commission, delivered speeches. They recognized the achievements of the Peking University Third Hospital Institute of Medical Innovation and the Xueyuan Road Clinical Medicine Collaborative Innovation Alliance, calling for enhanced communication and cooperation to jointly promote medical technology innovation and contribute to the realization of a "Healthy China" and a "Technologically Strong Nation."

Wang Yunpeng, President of Beihang University; Tan Tianwei, President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology; E Weinan, President of the Beijing Institute of Big Data; and Yang Renshu, President of the University of Science and Technology Beijing, were appointed as members of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Institute of Medical Innovation. Additionally, the Fifth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Institute of Acoustics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Beijing Dance Academy officially joined the Xueyuan Road Clinical Medicine Collaborative Innovation Alliance.

Specialized reports were delivered by Academician Tan Weihong, Director of the Institute of Medicine at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Hangzhou; Zheng Zhongwei, Inspector of the Department of Science and Education at the National Health Commission; and Academician Shao Feng, Academic Deputy Director of the Beijing Institute of Life Sciences.

Academician Qiao Jie, President of the Peking University Third Hospital Institute of Medical Innovation, hosted a roundtable forum. The forum featured insights from Academician Zhan Qimin, Director of the Peking University International Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Health and Medical Big Data, and Chair of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Institute of Medical Innovation at Peking University Third Hospital; Academician Ge Shirong, former Party Secretary and President of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing); Academician E Weinan; Zeng Rong, Vice President of Tsinghua University; Xiao Haipeng, Executive Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University and President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University; Yang Renquan, Deputy Secretary of the Haidian District Party Committee; and Xue Min, Chairman of United Imaging Healthcare Group. Each participant shared perspectives from their respective fields.

Six sub-forums were held, focusing on cutting-edge technology, innovative medical devices and consumables, clinical research, flagship hospital construction with integrated Chinese and Western medicine, AI and data-driven smart applications, and more. During the conference, the Zhongguancun Intellectual Property Protection Center's Patent Pre-Examination Practice Base was officially established at Peking University Third Hospital.
