Qiao Jie/Yan Liying/Yan Zhiqiang Team from Peking University Third Hospital Develops RNA-Based Embryo Diagnosis and Implantation Potential Assessment Method

On June 20, 2024, Academician Qiao Jie, Professor Yan Liying, and Associate Researcher Yan Zhiqiang from the Department of Reproductive Medicine at Peking University Third Hospital published a research paper online in Advanced Science titled "Concurrent Preimplantation Genetic Testing and Competence Assessment of Human Embryos by Transcriptome Sequencing." The study established an embryo implantation potential assessment system using chromosomal expression levels and overall expression levels of the blastocyst's trophectoderm as predictive indicators. Utilizing this system to predict embryo implantation potential is expected to significantly improve the success rate of implantation after embryo transfer. Academician Qiao Jie, Professor Yan Liying, and Associate Researcher Yan Zhiqiang are the corresponding authors of the paper. The co-first authors are PhD student Wang Yuqian and Li Ye from the Peking University Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, and Zhu Xiaohui from the Department of Reproductive Medicine at Peking University Third Hospital.
